Description

After many years of weekly bed linen change on 13 beds in our holiday cottages, we were determined to find an easier way of changing the duvet covers. We then read a social media post by the author Christina Dodds. She said: “The most common ghosts are the ones that appear dressed in a white sheet with flailing arms. These are people who died whilst changing their duvet covers and they are condemned to wander in the bedroom forever, trying to find the corners.” we couldn’t have put it better ourselves! And so the Southdown Snapdown was born.

Made in Britain from a 400 thread count white cotton, the Southdown Snapdown duvet cover has poppers that open the cover on 3 sides, so no more ‘flailing ghosts’. Please note the Southdown Snapdown is washable, but not suitable for commercial laundry.

I am a total convert to wool duvets, and more specifically to Southdown wool duvets! I was sceptical I'd get used to the feel of it after my fluffy feather duvet, but I was pleasantly surprised by the loft. It does feel a little heavier, but in a way that's actually quite comforting. Most importantly, the claims about wool being better for allergies and for temperature regulation have proven to be true. I have rhinitis, an allergy to dust mites, asthma, and get hot due to a sleep disorder, and I have seen a huge improvement in all these areas. The personal touch from Jessica was also lovely - she is happy to answer any questions and advise; a service that feels particularly special in today's world. This duvet is an investment, but it's one that's well worth making.

Not only is my wool duvet a first-class product but the customer service is amazing too! I shall be buying more! Thank you Southdown sheep and Jessica!

I have just bought my second wool duvet from Southdown Duvets and in my opinion, they are the best on the market and the service from Jessica the Duvet Lady is excellent. They are a bit more expensive than some other duvets on the market, but in my opinion they are well worth the extra and last a long time if you care for them properly. I bought my first one as I was having terrible night sweats - wool duvets are much better at temperature regulation than feather and down, and you don't get those pesky feathers poking through the cotton casing. And finally, the wool comes from British sheep sustainably and without cruelty. What's not to like. ❤️👍

Jessica's customer care is second to none and she is such a lovely person. She is genuinely interested in everyone having a great sleep. We have had a chat over the phone to discuss the best choice in regards to the pillows and duvets. Jessica has suggested trying a few pillows and just send back whichever may not work. I have placed the order and have had a great sleep since. Personalised service, great quality products and quick delivery - a winning combination. Really excellent products, we bought a quilt and pillows and can only say how wonderful they are. Very high quality, well made with attention to detail in the stitching and content. One big difference for me has been how the wool holds its shape and doesn’t migrate round the quilt as feathers or down seem to do. The quilt is physically very light yet warm and cosy to lie under. The pillows provide really good support when sleeping, no uncomfortable dips, and provide good neck support when you sleep. I would have no hesitation recommending these products and also Jessica is a really nice, customer focussed person, helpful, answers queries openly and lovely to deal with.
